Meet The Team

  • Lori S.

    CHIEF CELEBRATION OFFICER

Spend more than five seconds interacting with Lori and you’ll soon realize three things: 1-her enthusiasm is highly contagious; 2-confetti is her favorite color; and 3-her commitment to The Cupcake Bar, our team, our clients, and our community runs deep.

      • Each day, she ensures TCB puts forth our best and lives up to our vision and standards as a company. She’s also the mastermind behind our custom gifting solutions and small batch gift collections, and she loves that we get to help people tell their stories through celebrations. Whether it’s a big wedding, an employee gifting experience, or sharing in a virtual class, she knows it’s an honor to bring people together through joyful moments. That, she says, is something truly special.

Before starting The Cupcake Bar in 2007, Lori graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Nutritional Sciences and a BS in Food Science and Technology. After starting her professional career as Director of R&D for Schlotzsky’s, she received her AOS in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu Austin. She LOVES to travel, try new restaurants, watch her son play ice hockey, and spend time with her family.

(By the way, she’s an Enneagram 7, which you can tell by her endless supply of positive energy and colorful shoes.)

Favorite TCB sweet treat: Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate buttercream and loads of gold shimmer. Extra glitter, please!

  • Kimberly K.

    DIRECTOR OF EVENTS

Behind every successful TCB experience is the heartbeat of our team: our Director of Operations, Kim. From event logistics to to community outreach, Kim handles the behind-the-scenes details with a genuine desire to provide the best service possible.

      • Her meticulous planning and organizational skills help us put smiles on people’s faces day after day, year after year, event after event. She also has a knack for organizing fun moments for the Cupcake Squad (we can confirm that her annual Galentine’s Day Brunch is out of this world), and as an Enneagram 9, her capacity to truly care for our team and our clients knows no limits.

Before coming to The Cupcake Bar, Kim received her Bachelors in Business Management from Texas State University and worked as an event coordinator for 7 years. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her dogs Dean and Winchester, hang out with her husband Greg, watch tv, and catch up with friends.

Favorite TCB sweet treat: Gluten-sensitive Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate buttercream and gold sprinkles

  • Alexa B.

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Alexa takes great pride in being the longest-tenured Cupcake Bartender on staff, having joined the team back in 2010 when we relied on printed MapQuest directions to navigate to event venues. Technology has come a long way since then.

      • These days, she manages The Cupcake Bar’s virtual classes (and teaches many of them) and is one of the creative forces behind the company. From designing custom gifting collateral to creating content, she loves having so many opportunities to help make TCB clients’ experiences extra special.

Alexa received her BA in English from Texas A&M University. Prior to working at The Cupcake Bar, she taught middle school for nearly a decade, where she always had a captive audience for her corny puns, and where her calm nature–she’s an Enneagram 9–often came in handy.

When she’s not working, you might find her traveling, playing board games, or treasure hunting at her favorite local thrift stores.

Favorite TCB sweet treat: It’s a tie: Red Velvet cupcake with Mocha buttercream and a Caramel Apple (Granny Smith, please), rolled in gold shimmer sprinkles.
