The Ask

Our friends at Glass Staircase brought our team along to support the launch of Varsity Beauty, a new beauty line for high-impact, longwear performance with the care and recovery of athletes in mind. In advance of cheerleading competitions, Varsity wanted to send custom PR beauty boxes to athletes around the country to help them prepare.

The Gifting Solution

We were thrilled to be a part of the beauty boxes from start to finish, and we loved collaborating with Glass Staircase to bring their concept to life. From consulting on the box design and managing production, to receiving and quality-checking the products, and then fulfilling, shipping, and tracking, we were truly honored to be a part of this launch!

The Custom PR Box

Our team provided guidance to the client on box design. This was a multistage project, collaborating with the client and vendors to make sure we brought Varsity’s vision to life. We recommended different materials, and sizes, and specialty treatments to convey a clean presentation. We spent time color matching to make sure we got their colors right, aligning with their brand.

Inside, cutouts were made to fit the exact size of the products, ensuring everything would be perfectly in place upon delivery. The pocket on the lid of the box held a “pull for a pep talk” card, a special message specific to the athlete receiving it to encourage them as they made their way to competition.

Outside, the magnetic closure kept the box secure during transport while allowing for an easy open for the recipient. Adding in the dazzle factor, the box got specialty treatment for the spot foil and spot UV addition for the holographic logo.

We managed the production with our vendor, including box, collateral, and custom tape. The high end box was completely custom, inside and out, to ensure items arrived safely and score a perfect 100.

The Fulfillment

When it was time to fulfill and ship a box, all the client had to do was provide us the addresses, and we handled the rest. The 125 boxes were sent in batches in advance of various competitions, both in bulk and individually, over a span of six months.

We received the Varsity Beauty products and made sure to quality control, ensuring products were in perfect condition. We assembled the boxes with products and collateral specific to the athlete receiving them, including custom “pep talk” notes to correspond with their competition and the indicated fragrance scent.

Once we perfectly packaged these competition-ready products, we shipped them nationwide as well as managed the tracking.

From consulting to production to fulfillment, seeing this high end project come together — complete with a custom-sized, soft textured box with foil treatments — this box was a showstopper!
